Pre-CanSkate

Optional readiness level

  

Pre-CanSkate is for AGE 3 & UP who are just learning to skate.  

         The objective of our pre-CanSkate program is to get the skaters comfortable on the ice.

        it is recommended to have 10/15 minutes BEFORE YOUR START TIME.

Here are your challenges.

1. Fall-down & get up

2. Move forward

3. Move backwards

4. 360° march

5. balance on two feet

6. make snow

7. two-foot twist

8. two-foot jump 

not necessarily in this order


AFTER COMPETION YOU WILLL BE AWARDED THE PRE-CANSKATE RIBBON

Please read the important information below.


What skater should wear? Or how to dress for skating?

Layering of clothing is recommended as skaters get warm after a while.

skaters below CanSkate Stage 5 must wear CSA approved hockey helmets

Bike, ski, or other sports helmets are not accepted

Club or fitted jackets is a great way to go.

         What can skaters bring with them on the ice?

Skaters can have water bottles, tissues and practice notes on the ice with them. No gum, food, etc. on the ice. 

All phones need to stay in the dressing room
